In Quebec, leases generally run from July 1 to June 31. However, for condos, new constructions and houses, occupancy dates may vary.<\/p>\n

There never seems to be enough storage space… especially once you\u2019ve moved in! In condos, there is often a locker outside the apartment that can make all the difference when storing a bike, seasonal items or even boxes that we always promise to get around to \u201cone day\u201d. During the visit, ask about and take the time to check out the number and size of the closets to ensure they are suitable for your needs. It is best to avoid having to turn the living room into an improvised warehouse!<\/p>\n

13.\u00a0Who is responsible for snow removal?<\/p>\n

Quebec winters are full of surprises, so it\u2019s best to know who will be wielding the shovel! Find out about snow removal from the parking lot, but also from the entrance, stairs and other common areas.<\/p>\n

Rent and other costs<\/strong><\/p>\n

14.\u00a0Exactly how much is the rent and what does it include?<\/p>\n

Some rents include heating, hot water or internet, while others do not. Make sure the price matches the one advertised, as some building managers have several units and mistakes can happen!<\/p>\n
